Kani-oni are a type of enemy found on Senchō Bridge.

Overview

Kani-oni are based on a type of crab yokai of the same name. Very little is known or documented about them. They are aggressive and will attack Bō on sight.

Kani-Oni are invincible to attacks from the front, but have a weak spot on their back that can be struck after they charge.

Appearance

Kani-Oni appear similarly to a fiddler crab, having one large claw and one normal sized claw. They have a red carapace with a peach underside, a single large eye with a purple outline around it, small yellow horns, and a white mustache.

Behavior

When Bō is spotted by a Kani-Oni, it will raise a snipping claw angrily, then charge directly at them. They act very similar to an Armakillo, but do not have a recovery period and will only charge until they reach Bō's location before stopping. This is different from an Armakillo, who will keep rolling towards Bō until they hit a wall or roll off a ledge.
