Sessho-seki

Sessho-seki are an enemy found exclusively in Uzumaki Cave.

Overview

Sessho-seki are based on the rock of the same name in Nikko National Park in Japan, called the "killing stone." This rock was a cursed stone said to contain an evil fox spirit named Tamamo-no-Mae.

In Bō, Sessho-seki are are one of the many enemy yо̄kai found throughout the game. They are located in Uzumaki Cave.

Appearance

Sessho-seki are greyish-blue rock like creatures with a shimenawa (Japanese hallowed rope) around the top of its body. They have bright white swirling eyes, yellow eyebrows, small nostrils, and a frowning mouth with two tiny fangs.

Behavior

Sessho-seki will remain idle until Bō draws near. When they detect Bō and become hostile, Sessho-seki will bounce twice in place before firing a blue orb at them. This orb can be deflected with the Bamboo Bat, dealing damage to the Sessho-seki.
